ABC's

This week in our digital imaging class we had to go and shoot the alphabet. One version had to be found in nature (i.e. we could not set anything up, we had to go and find things that were in the shape of the letters) and a second version had to be in different fonts and each letter had to be from a different sign or place.

Farming and Agriculture

This week in small format we had to photograph scenes that involve farming and/or agriculture.

Colors

These are from our color assignments last semester in design lab. We were learning how to see colors and how they related to each other.

Parks and Rec

This is the first baseball game that I have ever photographed, and I thought it was really fun. Can't wait for the next one! This is from the opening night game of the Asheboro Copperheads.

My daughter, the natural model

These are a few pictures of my daughter from our trip down to Savannah. It scares me how naturally she poses without any direction. I mean, look at some of these positions. Some girls spend tons of money to be trained how to do this. Although it does save me money, because having a model living in my house means that I don't have to hire one!

Rule of Thirds: Class Assignment

I finally have my page where I want it and now it is time for the first post. This is also my first class assignment where I used my new camera and I am in LOVE with it! In this assignment, we had to go take a set of three pictures using the rule of thirds (where the frame is broken into nine equal parts by two equally spaced horizontal lines and two equally spaced vertical lines and the subject is placed on one of the lines or intersections) and negative spaces. Then we had to place the three pictures together into one frame in the best possible layout. This is my favorite of the three pictures that I used.
